Scuba Diving Komodo

Komodo – Top Dive Destination with great conditions

Most descriptions about diving in Komodo National Park are superlative. And they are just right. Diving in Komodo means incredibly rich marine life, big variety of pelagic fish, sharks and macro diving; superb and untouched coral reefs, and amazing topography.

We offer daytrips to all dive spots in Central and North part of the park on our spacious and comfortable boat “Santai”.

You can do scuba diving in Komodo all year around. In Indonesia there are two seasons: rainy season (December – February) and dry season (March –November). You can dive during both seasons, however due to the rains from December until February the conditions can get a bit unpleasant and we might not be able to go out. However during December through to February you’ve got the best season to see manta rays.

Yet, we experience best conditions for diving in Komodo from March through to October.

Komodo National Park is located between two big oceans, thus there is a lot of water movement that creates currents in Komodo. And they are the reason why Komodo’s waters are so full of fish. No worries, if you do not have much experience in diving in currents. We offer special programs where you learn diving in currents, understanding and enjoying them.

But that is the amazing thing about Komodo National Park. Yet, there are also incredible dive spots for relaxed diving, macro lovers or snorkel activists.

Visibility: 5 – 30 m (best visibility from November to January)
Depths: 5 – 40 m (depends on your level and dive spot)
Water temperatures: 25 – 28 degrees
Variety: Current dives, gentle drift dives, walls, reefs, pinnacles, seamounts, sand slopes
Level: Divers of all levels can dive in Komodo. Dive sites are chosen in compliance with diver’s experience, skills and knowledge. (Of course, as Wet Frog Divers we play a part as weatherman, too)

Every morning around 7:00 a.m. we pick you up from your hotel on the way to our boat. There, our international team will welcome you; and while we cruise towards our first dive spot, our dive masters will give you a short boat briefing. Sit back, listen and enjoy the view over the stunning island architecture of Komodo.

There are roughly 40 renowned dive sites around Labuan Bajo and the world-famous Komodo National Park. To get the most out of your diving days it is worth going out for three dives. Yet, we set our plans according to your wishes, travel schedule and experience as well as to weather conditions.

For your well-being on board we offer you non-limited drinking water, tea and coffee. Freshly prepared snacks and lunch are served during the trip and are good for your energy. During and after the dives you have a choice of games; sufficient space to relax and to stock up on some sunshine; or just to chat and to go through your underwater photos while listening to some lounge music.

That’s the rule we always follow. Yet, to ensure the delight of our first time divers and to thrill and to challenge even the most experienced divers, we set our diving groups accordingly.

At the end of your exciting dive day in Komodo National Park while we slowly move back to the harbour of Labuan Bajo, you can enjoy some desserts on our boat and the beautiful view to the park. Once in the harbour we bring you back to your accommodation.

Besides the famous Komodo Dragons and the amazing diving in Komodo, you can discover a wide variety of other attractive things to see and to do in Komodo and Flores Island.
